Münster is a multi-faceted city and one of the largest and foremost university towns in Germany with more than 55,000 students. It is a city of science and learning, the City of Westphalian Peace, the capital city of bicycles and Germany’s Climate Protection Capital. The centre is characterized by its medieval downtown with its cathedral, gothic churches, baroque buildings, and the Town Hall, where the Westphalian peace negotiations to end the Thirty Years’ War were conducted in 1648. It is an outstanding place to live, work and visit.
