City of Giessen

Giessen is a lively city in the heart of Germany - with the highest "density" of students among German university cities and thus also one of the liveliest cities in Germany. Justus Liebig University is more than 400 years old and one of the birthplaces of modern chemistry - with the original Liebig Laboratory (now the Liebig Museum) as one of the most important sites in the history of chemistry.

Only a few years ago, the chemistry department moved into one of the most modern chemistry buildings in Europe.
