Travel Information

By plane

The closest airport to Nottingham is the East Midlands Airport, which mainly serves national or short international connections. Directions on how to get from there to the campus and further information on the local transport system can be found here. International guests may find suitable flights to Birmingham, Manchester or any of the London airports (Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick). The fastest way to reach Nottingham from these cities is by train directly into Nottingham city.

 

By train

Nottingham is approximately 1hr and 50 mins from London St. Pancras which directly connect with the Eurostar rail system.  

 

The University of Nottingham is accessible via the Nottingham tram network. Two tram stops are both a short walk from the School of Chemistry. They are labelled with a green tram sign on the campus map and are located at The Queens Medical Centre (QMC) and University of Nottingham (adjacent to building 46 and the South Entrance respectively).

 

 

Accommodation

The University has a hotel on campus, the Orchard Hotel & Restaurant. Nottingham city centre has a range of hotels (use NG1 2DT for the city centre) with numerous tram stops which are approx. 15 mins by tram from The University of Nottingham.
